Two-of-work actors, the anxiety, the unfortunate marwood and his spicy, alcoholic friend, Withnail — spend their days between their seedy apartment, the unemployment office and the pub. When they are on holiday “by mistake” in the country of Withnail is flamboyantly gay uncle Monty, knowing the unfortunate side of the English countryside: tedium, terrifying night and the pouring rain.
